This and the next three examples involve italics that start on one page and end on the next. Since they do not end with hyphens, a continuation asterisk should not be used, but the italic text at the bottom of the page must be enclosed in starting/ending italics tags, as shown here.

DP's primary Post-Processing software ("Guiguts") will combine the two italicized phrases into one, as it will see they are adjacent. However, you can't tell from what's on this page whether or not the ending comma is part of the title, unless you look at the next page. In this example, that comma is part of the title, as you will see in the next example. However, in the example-after-next, the comma is not part of the title.

As a formatter, you aren't required to "peek" ahead to decide what to do here, but doing so will make life easier for the post-processor. Another option is to leave a note here, after the closing tag.
