"Block quotes" tags, sometimes also called "rewrap" tags, look like this:

They are used to indicate text that is printed differently from the main text but that can still be rewrapped during post-processing.
Before reviewing these examples, make sure your are familiar with the sections of the Formatting Guidelines on Block Quotations and Placement of Out-of-Line Formatting Markup.
