Welcome to the Library of Formatting Examples

These examples cover formatting issues in more detail than the Formatting Guidelines. They are intended to supplement, not replace, the Guidelines. When formatting, please always follow:

  1. Instructions from the Project Manager, Post-Processor, and Project Facilitators, even if they contradict the Guidelines and these Examples;
  2. The Formatting Guidelines; and finally
  3. These examples.

If you are unsure about how to format something, please leave a [**note] for minor issues and ask in the discussion thread for major/repeated issues.

Using the Library of Formatting Examples

To navigate through the Examples, use the navigation bar at the top of every page, or follow one of the topic links below. If you have any questions about these examples, please ask in the LOFE Discussion Thread.

There is an experimental Index to the LOFE. This is intended as a helpful way of finding information within the Examples, not as a replacement for carefully reviewing the entirety of the Guidelines and the Examples.

Changes to the LOFE

This Wiki version was launched on DATE. Previously, the LOFE was maintained in a project-based format. For now, that format is still available and can be accessed [[1]], but it is no longer being actively maintained or updated.

There is a changelog for the previous version of the LOFE. In the wiki version, changes should be reflected in each page's individual history.
