Correctly formatted text
[blank line] [blank line] [blank line] [blank line] CXXXIV.--TO FANNY KEATS. [** Heading identifies letter; it isn't part of it.] [blank line] [blank line] /*[** Show right-justification.] Wentworth Place [February 11, 1820]. */ My dear Fanny--I am much the same as when I last wrote. I hope a little more verging towards improvement. Yesterday morning being very fine, I took a walk for a quarter of an hour in the garden and was very much refresh'd by it. You must consider no news, good news--if you do not hear from me the day after to-morrow. Your affectionate Brother /* John. */
Letter closing
The complementary closing ("Your affectionate Brother") has the same indentation as a regular paragraph, so it does not need to be marked with block quotes or no-wrap. We move the signature down to its own line, however, and it gets no-wrap to show right-justification.
Complete and incomplete sentences
The signature itself is part of a larger sentence, so the period goes outside the small caps tags.
Major and minor divisions
Here, the Project Comments said each letter is a chapter.
